Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer
Ms. Wallace has more than 25 years of experience as a senior executive in the Public Sector, Fortune 500, Start-up, and Nonprofit environments. Most recently Ms. Wallace was the first ever Chief Diversity Officer appointed by New York City Comptroller Scott M. Stringer, where she was responsible for delivering innovative solutions to increase contract opportunities for Minority- and Women-owned Businesses (MWBEs) across NYC’s Agencies and the private sector. Ms. Wallace has served as Managing Director and/or Executive Vice President of: DASNY, the largest issuer of tax-exempt bonds ($47 Billion portfolio) and one of the largest public construction agencies in the nation ($7 Billion portfolio); Telwares, the leading provider of telecommunications expense management services; and the NYC Leadership Academy, an independent nonprofit created by Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Chancellor Joel Klein. Ms. Wallace’s career began in Los Angeles where she progressed rapidly through a variety of assignments in engineering, operations and general management of large cable television systems and Baby Bell telephone companies. Ms. Wallace became the Regional Vice President of Operations of Covad Communications, a Private Equity/Venture Capital backed start-up company headquartered in Silicon Valley that grew to an $8 billion market capitalization. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Pepperdine University and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Columbia University. Ms. Wallace serves on the boards of the Eagle Academy Foundation and The National Urban Technology Center.
